Ammonium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC-NH4) is a colorless amorphous substance, which is soluble in water,aqueous alkali, ammonia, and cellulose solution, but insoluble in organic solvents and mineral oil. Its refinement has an appearance of white or shallow yellowish powder or granules. Its structure is C6H7O2(OH)2OCH2COONH4and its molecular formula is C8H15O7N.

Ammonium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC-NH4) is an adhesive for special purposes, mainly used in high-quality SCR denigration catalysts. It solves the problem of alkali metal deactivation in CMC which damages the structure and active subject of SCR catalysts.
